Andrey Georgievich Beburishvili

Andrey Georgievich Beburishvili (Russia): after graduating from VSMI in 1970, he combined the work of a surgeon with work as an assistant in the Department of Faculty Surgery. He defended his candidate and then wrote his doctoral dissertation. From 1988 to 1991, he headed the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of VSMI. In December 1989, he was awarded the title of professor. Since 1991, he has headed the Department of Faculty Surgery with a course of endoscology and endoscopic surgery at the FUV and a course of cardiovascular surgery at VolgSMU. In 1993, the first endoscopic surgery center in the Lower Volga region was created on the basis of the department. Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor A.G. Beburishvili is rightfully considered the founder of endoscopic surgery in the Volgograd region. On November 8, 2017, at a meeting of the Academic Council of VolgSMU, it was announced that Andrey Georgievich Beburishvili was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of VolgSMU (Decision of the Academic Council, Minutes No. 2, reg. No. 17).
